Revised Discussion Draft Use Table - CLEAN

Review and comment on the Use Table

Note: The "clean" and "redlined" versions are identical. The "redlined" version shows changes made since the May 20th draft.

The Revised Discussion Draft Use Table shows the uses allowed in each Use District. The draft includes allowed use standards from over 200 existing zoning districts, plus new Use Districts that emerged from ongoing public input. In future drafts of ATL Zoning 2.0, the Use Table will be a part of Chapter 4: Use Districts. The table will also show uses where use standards apply.

Please use this an opportunity to share any thoughts you might have on the Revised Discussion Draft Use Table with us. These comments will be used to shape the future drafts of ATL Zoning 2.0.

Question
Can you clarify, is this an existing allowance in R4 or is this a new idea? If it's existing, has anything changed? Thanks.

Suggestion
RG-3 does not currently allow small commercial uses (I don't know about the other RGs) - a change in the allowable uses should be done on a case-by-case basis by neighborhood with public participation.

RG-3 should be in this R2 use category. RG-1 and RG-2 are in Residential Use R1 - it follows that RG-3 should be in the Residential Use R2. RG-3 IS residential, it does not currently allow commercial uses like small bars and restaurants. By putting RG3 into a Residential Mix category RX1 you are changing the underlying uses. This is supposed to be an apples-to-apples conversion. Areas that are currently RG3 that wish to include commercial uses should be able to request the use change and go through the public process to make the change.
